MPowering Kids was created to offer nine years of tutoring, mentoring, cultural enrichment, guest-speaker interaction and community service opportunities for economically disadvantaged, yet motivated students from their fourth grade year through high school graduation.

Dramatic Academic Improvements

MPowering Kids has helped students make significant academic improvements in a short period of time. Here are some recent results turned in by MPowering Kids students:

Plus, in a school district where average student test scores lag far behind those in affluent districts in the county, MPowering Kids students recently scored 27% higher than students in affluent districts, and scored up to 52% higher compared to a school peer group!

How You Can Help Make A Difference

Federal studies show that after-school programs have a direct impact on students’ academic achievements, as well as their ability to avoid gangs, teenage pregnancy, and being a victim of crime.  

You can help support promising, yet under-privileged students that do not have access to after-school tutoring and cultural enrichment programs that enhance educational learning.

Your donation will help pay for school supplies, learning aids, testing preparation, trips for cultural events and more.  Every dollar helps to provide programs that focus on academic and personal achievement for our promising students.

Volunteer Your Time

If you are interested in volunteering some free time, we've got lots of ways that you can help and make a difference with a regular or occasional volunteer commitment.  We always need volunteers to help out with tutoring, mentoring, office work, newsletters, mailings, tech support, planning events, field trips or guest speaker engagements.
