Not able to volunteer? If you Make A Donation, it will help MPowering Kids students receive nine years of after-school programs that keep them focused on school and earning a college degree.

Become A Tutor |
|
Tutors provide one-on-one
and small-group homework assistance, participate in fun educational
games that enhance classroom learning, and are important role models to
our students.
MPowering Kids tutors must be at least 16 years old and
must agree to spend 2 hours a
week with the students. All tutors must submit to a screening process, which includes: an application, an interview with an MPowering Kids staff member, and a criminal background check.

Become A Mentor |
|
A mentor is a
positive adult role model who serves as a friend, confidant and
critical source of support and guidance for a child. MPowering Kids'
volunteers set strong examples about the importance of integrity,
ethics, and strong values. Through these relationships,
students learn how to resolve conflicts, overcome obstacles
and use the power of a positive mental attitude to reach their
goals.
When our students reach the sixth grade, we arrange a meeting between interested students and their parents with the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization. Through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island, MPowering Kids strives to provide successful one-on-one mentoring relationships for all our students who need and want them.

Want to help make a difference in the life of a promising student? If so, we have lots of ways for you to get involved!
Whether you volunteer on a regular or occasional basis, we can use your help with everyday tasks such as office work, newsletters, mailings, tech support, or planning events such as field trips and guest speaker engagements.

Make a Donation |

Your donation will help pay for school supplies, learning aids, testing preparation, trips for cultural events and more. Every dollar helps to provide programs that focus on academic and personal achievement for our promising students.
Honor a friend, relative, colleague, or loved one by making a contribution in their name. What a great gift for the person that has everything, or to celebrate a birthday, a wedding, or even to honor someone's memory! The amount of your gift will remain confidential, but we'll notify the recipient with a special card acknowledging your donation in their name and explaining the MPowering Kids program.
Sponsor an event or outing for the students. MPowering Kids is dedicated to enriching our students lives through exposure to the arts and other interactive field trips. Your generosity can make it happen! Please contact us by email for more information on sponsoring an event.
