Islandia, NY, August 31, 2005 – Computer Associates International, Inc. (NYSE: CA) today announced that it awarded a $30,000 grant to MPowering Kids, a non-profit organization that is “promising help for promising students”™ by providing tutoring, mentoring and cultural enrichment for under-privileged children. The grant will be used to equip mobile technology labs that can be easily moved between classrooms in the Westbury schools served by MPowering Kids.
Impressive Academic Gains Of the children enrolled in its program, MPowering Kids reports that:

director of community and public affairs, CA. “We
are keenly aware that access to technology is
critical to the success of today’s young people. We
are proud to support MPowering Kids in its mission
to ensure academic success for under-served
children.”
CA’s donation will equip two mobile technology labs
composed of laptop computers, wireless internet
connections, educational software, printers, digital
cameras and a multimedia projector. The labs will be
located in Drexel Avenue Elementary School and
Westbury Middle School.
