MPowering Kids Featured On

News 12,
the exclusive 24-hour news service that reaches nearly 800,000
households on the Long Island Cablevision systems, recently featured
MPowering Kids in a broadcast TV segment
Judy
Martin, a News 12 on-air reporter, accompanied by a cameraman, visited
an MPowering Kids classroom at Drexel Avenue Elementary School to film
the story.
The story was part of News 12's coverage of the
benefits of volunteering, and the impact that volunteers have on
after-school programs such as MPowering Kids.
In addition to featuring several MPowering Kids
students, the segment also including interviews with three MPowering
Kids volunteers, who spoke about the rewards of working with promising,
yet under-privileged students in the Westbury school district.

MPowering Kids is a non-profit charitable
organization that is "promising help for promising
students"™ with after-school programs focused on
tutoring, mentoring, and cultural enrichment in
under-served communities. After researching where a
program such as MPowering Kids would have the most
impact, the program was established in the Westbury
