MPowering Kids Receives Grant From State Bank of Long Island

Westbury, NY, May 22, 2007 — MPowering Kids received a much needed grant from State Bank of Long Island. The $1,000 grant will be used to further enhance the MPowering Kids technology lab so that more students can have access to computers to assist them with their school work.

Debra Kendric and Joanne Davis from State Bank made a special visit to MPowering Kids to drop off the generous check. The students were particularly impressed with the giant check that was used at the presentation.

“We are so grateful to State Bank for their support” said Susan Marshall, Founder of MPowering Kids.  “We are lucky to have such a friend in State Bank that continues to assist our program and has a true hand in making our students succeed.”

MPowering Kids is a non-profit charitable organization that provides after-school tutoring, mentoring, cultural enrichment and community service programs for motivated students in under-served communities. The MPowering Kids staff and volunteers work closely with students from their fourth grade year through their high school graduation, offering nine years of programs and opportunities to acquire the skills, habits and attitudes necessary to succeed in college and in life.

The MPowering Kids program is made possible through the generous support of individual and corporate sponsors. For additional information about MPowering Kids, please visit the About Us section or go to the Donations page to help support MPowering Kids.
