Promising Help for Promising Students

MPowering Kids is a non-profit charitable organization that provides after-school tutoring, mentoring, cultural enrichment and community service programs for motivated students in under-served communities.

The MPowering Kids staff and volunteers work closely with students from their fourth grade year through their high school graduation, offering nine years of programs and opportunities to acquire the skills, habits and attitudes necessary to succeed in college and in life.

Students from fourth through twelfth grade participate in the program, which is conducted on their school campus immediately following their school day. Students move through the program from year to year until they graduate from high school.

MPowering Kids is committed to fostering academic and personal excellence to motivated students in under-served communities while cultivating a life-long love of learning and a philosophy of giving back to others through community service.

An enriched education, with high standards of expectation and an introduction to the arts, can open up a new world of opportunity to students. Many children miss these opportunities because their families do not have the skills or the financial resources to provide academic assistance.

Cultural enrichment is also a luxury not easily afforded by many of the families in the areas served by MPowering Kids. By introducing the students to academic and cultural enrichment, the power to overcome economic disadvantages sets the stage for the children to grow into productive and confident adults.
