The MCF Greentree Foundation Good Neighbor Fund has once again generously supported the promising students enrolled in the MPowering Kids after-school program. The 2011 grant funds a small-group Princeton Review SAT Prep class, college visits and college application fees for MPowering Kids’ motivated, hard-working high school seniors. The students spent 18 hours over the summer with Otto Hennecke from The Princeton Review (pictured above with three of the MPowering Kids’ seniors), receiving personalized tutoring for the October 2nd SAT test. They also visited Columbia University and are preparing to visit three more colleges this fall. MPowering Kids helps students navigate the college-preparation and admissions process and prepare to become the first in their family to attend college.
