WE CARE’s Advisory Board Member, the Honorable John Marks, presented MPowering Kids with a $1,000 check to support the academic after-school program. The donation from WE CARE will help provide MPowering Kids’ 11th and 12th grade students with “Gravity Guide” mentors who use their skills and knowledge to guide motivated, hard-working high school students to become the first in their family to attend college. Gravity Guide mentors help students navigate the college-preparation and admissions process and prepare for their enrollment in higher education.
The WE CARE Fund is the nationally-recognized charitable arm of the Nassau County Bar Association. Founded in 1988 by NCBA Past President Stephen Gassman, WE CARE funds are raised by the legal profession and the community at large. The money is distributed through charitable grants to improve the quality of life for children, the elderly and others in need throughout Nassau County.
